5 Effective Hacks To Keep Flies And Insects At Bay, Stay Pest-Free This Monsoon!
Although the monsoon season relieves the oppressive heat, it also invites a variety of bugs into our houses.
Since the humid climate is ideal for the growth of flies, mosquitoes, and other insects, it is imperative to take appropriate precautions to keep them at bay.

Here are five useful tips to guide you evict these unwanted visitors in the monsoon.

Keep Your Home Clean
Keeping your house clean throughout the monsoon is crucial to keeping flies and other insects at bay. Cleaning should be your first line of defence because flies are drawn to moist areas, rubbish, and food remnants.
Make cleaning a regular ritual that consists of mopping and sweeping floors, cleaning kitchen surfaces, and cleaning up spills and crumbs right away.
The kitchen and eating areas should receive special attention as they are common places for food particles to collect. To avoid creating a damp atmosphere that attracts insects, make sure that countertops, sinks, and other locations are completely dried after usage.

Use Natural Repellents
To effectively and environmentally friendly repel flies and other insects without using toxic chemicals, use natural repellents. Known for its ability to repel insects, neem oil combined with water can be sprayed throughout your house, especially in the vicinity of windows, doors, and other possible access sites.
Place a mixture of lemon halves and cloves in places where flies and mosquitoes make an obvious appearance. Additionally, essential oils such as peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus are effective at warding off insects.

Protect Entry Points
To prevent flies and insects from entering your home, it's crucial to identify and seal potential entry points. Even small cracks and gaps can serve as doorways for pests. Installing door sweeps at the bottom of doors can also prevent insects from crawling in through this often-overlooked space.
Additionally, fitting fine mesh screens on windows and ventilation openings allows fresh air to circulate while keeping flies and other insects out.

Create Fly Traps
A useful and affordable way to catch and get rid of flies and other pests in your house is to make your traps. Pour some apple cider vinegar and dish soap into a jar to make a basic fly trap. The vinegar attracts flies, but the soap destroys the surface tension, causing the flies to drown.
Cut a plastic bottle in half and add a solution of sugar, water, and yeast to create a mosquito bottle trap. Turn the upper portion over and insert it into the lower portion. Mosquitoes are drawn to the carbon dioxide that the yeast produces, which traps them within.

Maintain The Outdoor Area
The atmosphere outside of your house has a big impact on how many flies and other insects enter your house. Maintain a well-kept yard and garden to reduce the pest invasions.
Get rid of any standing water since stagnant water is where mosquitoes grow. Check and dump water-collecting objects regularly, such as flower pots, birdbaths, and blocked gutters. Swap out your white exterior lights for yellow ones. Yellow lights attract fewer insects, which will help you keep fewer pests around your house.
By implementing these five practical hacks, you can get rid of houseflies and other insects during the monsoon season. These measures not only protect your space but also ensure a hygienic and comfy living environment!
