1. High Blood Pressure:
The very first thing that a high blood pressure patient is told to bring down the pressure level is to stop consuming or reduce the intake of salt. This is because the salt in the body causes water retention which in turn builds pressure inside the body, thus increasing the pressure in the body. Hence, when you have high blood pressure, you should cut back on salt.

2. Water Retention:
Have you lately felt that the rings on your hand have become tight? This could be because of water retention which have resulted from consuming too much salt. This causes the body to secrete certain hormones that tell the body to hold on to the water. It is during this time that you should cut back on salt.

3. Dry Mouth:
After having certain kinds of foods your mouth might feel very dry and you might feel very thirsty. This is because you must have had a meal with a high amount of salt. To get relief from this drink lots of water to flush out the salt and also reduce your salt intake during the next meal.

4. Headaches:
Do you often get headaches after eating foods high in salt content, like chips? Research has proved that some people get headaches after consuming salt-rich foods. Hence, these people should reduce their intake of salt.
Do you run to the toilet often? It is not because you drink too much water; it could be the result of eating too much salt. When your kidneys need to overwork to flush out the salt from your system, you will end up in the toilets more frequently.
