In ancient India, turmeric was used widely to treat liver issues. Is there any ingredient that can benefit both the liver and the brain? Well, turmeric can do that job well.
In the recent past, even researchers have started examining the properties of turmeric to know what makes it so powerful.

Turmeric is said to prevent the scarring of liver, reduce the damage done due to overdose of iron, bring down toxicity levels in the body and curb liver disorders like cholestasis.

Here are two different mixtures using turmeric. Both of them are good for your heart and brain.

Ingredients
You will need half a teaspoon of black pepper powder, a glass of coconut milk, a tablespoon of coconut oil and a teaspoon of turmeric.

How To Prepare
Mix all the ingredients and add them to a saucepan. Heat them till boiling point and allow it to cool for a while. You can drink it when it is warm. If you don't wish to drink it, then you can add it to your recipes or soups.

Another Method: Ingredients
You will need a glass of water and a pinch of turmeric powder.

How To Prepare
Let the water boil and mix turmeric powder to it. Allow it to boil for 5-10 minutes on medium flame. After allowing it to cool for some time, drink it.

Does It Work?
Latest studies indicate that turmeric boosts the function of the brain. The curcumin present in turmeric is said to prevent the accumulation of beta-amyloid plaques which may cause Alzheimer's.

Anti-Inflammatory
Also, the anti-inflammatory agents in turmeric can minimise the damage that occurs to the brain due to oxidising agents and inflammation. Also, turmeric can prevent depression.

What Else Does Curcumin Do?
Curcumin in turmeric can also lower the risk of liver cancer by reducing the damage done by carcinogens like thioacetamide.
