Bloating during menstruation is something many women suffer from. Read on to know the causes of bloating during menstruation and ways to prevent it.
If you feel restless, irritated and pain in the abdomen during menstruation, it is just what menstrual bloating is about. It is caused because of gas that gets rolled up in the intestine and during menstruation it becomes really frequent and common.
Therefore eating lots of fibre-rich food and giving your body the required quantity of liquid that it requires would help in preventing constipation that makes the pain even worse.

The scientific reason behind its happening is that during menstruation each month the lining of the womb produces a substance that is known as prostaglandins. This leads to the contraction of the walls of the uterus muscles and for that reason a tissue is discharged along with fluid which is the primary reason for menstruation.
When prostaglandins are produced in huge quantities, they lead to the abnormal contraction of the muscles and this causes bloating. The belief that all women have to face bloating during menstruation is wrong. You can avoid bloating during menstruation by taking the required precautions.

Check your diet and prevent the intake of salty and junk foods which may lead to cramps. Consume lots of fruits and veggies and avoid milk products. Eat fish and poultry, but try having them grilled as opposed to deep frying them. Take sufficient quantities of vitamin doses as this is really valuable in reducing cramps and bloating during menstruation.
Along with vitamin capsules, every woman should take an amount of calcium dose to maintain a healthy body. Even women who eat chocolate in some form every day should check their consumption.

Avoid having caffeine, as an excessive amount of tea or coffee is harmful in this case. The considerable amounts of caffeine would lead to excessive bloating in the intestines that would result in pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation. Coffee includes some quantity of oils which also may cause gas getting rolled up in the lower abdomen.
A lot of women are addicted to alcohol consumption, an excessive amount of it is not good for them and during menstruation it is sensible to steer clear of these drinks as this causes dehydration that leads to bloating.
