The human nervous system can be described as a network of nerve cells and fibres that are responsible for transferring impulses from the brain to the rest of the body to enable different organs to perform their functions.
So, you can imagine if the nervous system is not healthy or is damaged in any way, it can affect the functioning of various parts of the body, including vital organs, causing a lot of health complications.
There are three types of nerves in the body - autonomic nerves, motor nerves and sensory nerves; and you can face health problems even if one of these nerves are damaged.
Nerve damage can be caused by reasons like injury, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, cancer, side effects of drugs, etc.
So, here is a list of some of the silent symptoms of nerve damage you must not ignore, have a look.
1. Numbness

One of the silent symptoms of nerve damage can be experiencing numbness in certain parts of the body, especially in the fingers and toes, as nerve damage can decrease blood flow to these parts.
2. Stiffness

Again, due to the lack of blood flow to certain parts of the body caused by nerve damage, one can experience stiffness or difficulty in movement in those body parts.
3. Sharp Pain

If you are experiencing a sharp pain, especially in your leg and back while walking, running, etc., it could mean that your sciatic nerves could be compressed or damaged.
4. Clumsiness

Yes, clumsiness can be another sign of nerve damage. If you notice that you slip or drop things more often, it could mean that the nerve damage has caused a lack of co-ordination.
5. Loss Of Bladder Control

Yet another symptom of nerve damage can be loss of bladder control and more trips to the restroom!
6. Sharp Headaches

If you notice that you are experiencing sharp, intense headaches that occur often, do get yourself checked for nerve damage in the brain.
7. Excess Sweating
