The minute you step into a supermarket or a restaurant, you are greeted by the sight of tantalising foods, most of which are unhealthy!
There is a type of junk food to satisfy every kind of food craving that you experience, be it a sweet-tooth or a desire to have something spicy, junk food always comes to your rescue.

While there is no doubt that junk food tastes amazing, it is also a known fact that most of the junk foods are high in calories, sugar and fat content, so consuming junk foods on a regular basis can cause a serious damage to your system.

1. Plan Your Meals
Ensure that you plan on what you want to have for your meals, beforehand. This prevents you from impulsively buying or ordering unhealthy foods. You can always pack healthy food with you while you are on the go.

2. Consume Proteins
Making proteins a part of your daily diet will help curb your hunger pangs and junk food cravings, as protein-rich foods tend to keep you feeling full for a longer time. Milk, eggs, channa, etc, can be added to your diet.

3. Snack On Fruits
When you experience hunger pangs or cravings in between meals, instead of reaching for a bag of chips, make it a point to grab a fruit or some nuts to satisfy your cravings.

4. Experiment With Food
Try and add new ingredients to your diet, try new varieties of food and come up with different recipes. Doing this will kill the monotony of your daily healthy diet and may prevent you from succumbing to your cravings.

5. Train Your Mind
Where there is a will there is a way. So, make up your mind to stay away from junk food for as long as possible. Although it might be hard initially, gradually you will get used to your resolution.

6. Reduce Stress
Stress, anxiety, work pressure, etc, can also lead a person to "stress-eat", as the person depends on tasty food to make himself/herself feel good for a while and escape from the worries. So, stress management is very important.

7. Healthy Fats
Instead of depending on foods that contain unhealthy fats such as pizzas, fries, samosas, etc, you can substitute them with nuts, salmons, peanut butter, etc, to keep you feeling full and healthy as well!
Obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, high blood pressure, digestive disorders, etc, are some of the complications that may arise by consuming junk foods in excess.
