Effects Of Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is a condition that a number of people are diagnosed with every year. Women are found to suffer twice as much as men and it affects people in the age group between twenty and fifty the most. It is an autoimmune disease and medical practitioners call it a condition where there is progressive neurodegeneration.

The cause of this condition is unknown and no cure has been found for it. Only certain treatments are available that can slow down the progression of the disease and provide some relief from its symptoms. It ends up affecting the whole body.

Multiple sclerosis ends up affecting the nervous system. The cells in the spinal cord and brain are damaged and this disables the brain to send signals to the rest of the body. This causes memory problems, dizziness, vertigo, confusion, depression, emotional problems, personality changes, seizures, tremors, cognitive problems and dementia.

Multiple sclerosis causes hearing and vision problems. It can cause deafness or partial hearing problems. The vision is affected with problems like blurriness, double vision, difficulty in seeing contrast and sometimes there is pain in the eyes.

Some people with multiple sclerosis find it difficult to breathe, speak and swallow. Those who find it difficult to swallow, might end up choking and also end up with diseases like aspiration pneumonia. It also causes poor articulation, problems with volume control and slurring.

It ends up affecting the arms and legs. There is pain, numbness, tingling, difficulty with coordination, disruption in motor skills, muscle weakness, loss of balance, difficulty in walking and poor limb control. It can also lead to osteoporosis and breaks and fractures in bones. It attacks the circulatory system and can also cause diseases of the heart and tremors.

Multiple sclerosis causes constipation, loose motion and problems with bowel control. It can make urination a painful experience and cause kidney infections as well. It also attacks the reproductive system and causes infertility and sexual dysfunction. This can lead to emotional problems like low self-esteem and depression.
