Ill Effects Of Too Much Sleep
Do you feel sleepy all the time? Do you feel sleepy & lethargic even after sleeping for more than 8 hours? The fact is, it happens with everyone from time to time, sometimes, due to overwork, fatigue or any sickness.
But if it happens on a regular basis that even after you take too much sleep, you still feel sleepy then it is surely a matter of concern. You might be over-fatigued, depress, tense or not getting enough time to sleep which in turn has disturbed your body clock.
There are many reasons behind too much of sleeping, such as lack of sleep, depression and wrong timings among many others. Like insomnia, oversleeping or too much sleeping is also very bad for your health. Let us have a look on the problems caused by oversleeping:

Diabetes
Some studies have shown that people who sleep more than the normal hours tend to develop diabetes earlier than others. If your family has a genetic tendency to develop this, then you must take doctor's advice to get rid of too much of sleeping.

Heart problems
If you regularly sleep for more than 8 hours, you are at the increased risk for getting heart diseases. According to some researches, there is a link between people who sleep 9 to 12 hours every night and increased chances of heart diseases.

Memory loss
Sleeping, for more than 8-9 hours per night, adversely affects your brain. It slows down the functioning of your brain cells which in turn shows the early signs of memory loss while aging.

Depression
There are many studies conducted for the depression problem. According to which, the person suffering from depression tends to sleep more that others. And this makes the depression even worse, which in turn gives rise to many other physical problems.

Headache
If you get headache very often, make sure you are not taking too much of sleep. It may be one of the reason for your headache. Oversleeping also affect the neurotransmitters of the brain which leads to headache problem.

Back pain
Over-sleepers are likely to get back pain very often. Unless, they sleep on some specially or scientifically made mattresses, they are more prone to get back pain. Too much of sleep is an instance of lesser active lifestyle which is a known reason for lower back pain.

Obesity
You eat, oversleep and have a non-active lifestyle, then you are going to be obese very soon. Too much of sleeping can lead to excessive weight gain. According to a study, those who oversleep have a 21 percent higher risk of obesity than the people who sleep for normal hours.

Death
Although, the exact reason of this fact is still unknown but many studies have shown a link between oversleeping and higher death rates. So, if you want to live longer, sleep less!

Lack of interest
Too much of sleeping also affects your social life very badly. As you spend more time sleeping, you social involvement in any event or program becomes less. You gradually lose interest in outings and social gatherings which in turn affects your personality in a negative way.
