Healthy Habits To Follow This Winter
Winter is near, the October heat has drastically reduced after Diwali and cold chills have started blowing. This is the time when your skin will start drying up, your hair will get frizzy and there will be a few changes in your body routine.
One should always do a little more and pay extra attention to health during winters. This is because the cold air is not always good for health. To avoid from getting sick or disturbing your body and health, you should adopt a few things to reduce the effect of Winters.
A few such tips for maintaining health during winters are:-

Eat healthy
During winters one should totally avoid eating anything that can cause cold and cough. This includes foods like ice cream, cold liquids and anything that has temperature low than your body temperature.

Eat Light
During winters one gets more hungry, but eat in little quantities. This would help avoid indigestion problems. Eat foods that would help keep the body temperature to normal.

Regular Exercising
Get up early in the morning to exercise. Winters have late sun rise, hence the cold does not let us get out from the warm and cozy bed. Therefore, to avoid getting upon a lazy note and spend the rest of the day dull, one should get up early and exercise regularly.

After meal walk
Do not directly sleep after meals, this might increase your lazy quotient. Take light walks after meals especially dinner. This will help to have a proper digestion as well as help from being a couch potato.

Moisturize
Skin tends to get dry during winters. To avoid this, use good milk containing moisturizers. One should Apply moisturizers to all of the body atleast once in a day.

Winter Cloth
Use thick clothes during winters and always keep your ears and feet covered when going out in the cold. It reduces the chances of getting infected by cold or any winter disease.

Cold Sores
If you are prone to cold sores than avoid coming in contact with anybody else. Cold sores can be avoided by having a healthy diet, taking plenty of rest and avoiding close contact with anybody suffering from cold sores.

Meditate
Meditate to keep the mind calm and warm. Winters can be irritating sometimes, to keep cool meditation is one of the best ways.

Hot Liquids
Intake of hot liquids like soups, beverages, etc. is very useful during winters. One should consume a lot of such stuff throughout winters.

Spice up
To keep the body warm, using a lot of chillies and spices in food is also a great way. It will help you regulate the body temperature to normal and keep away the cold.

Anti - oxidants
During winters, anti oxidants should be consumed to keep the body warm.Foods that are rich in anti oxidants include Pumpkin, Potato, etc.

Vitamin D
Winters have less sun vitamins in the stock. Therefore, keeping a diet rich in vitamin D is essential to avoid deficiency of Vitamin D.

Water
Sip a lot of water during winters. Winters dry the skin and body. To keep the hydration level in the body, drink in a lot of water.

Sunscreen
Thought the intensity of sun rays is less during winters, it is good to use precautions. Use of sunscreens should be in any and every season to avoid skin tan and burns.

Boost the energy
Always keep your mood and energy going high. Winters make the atmosphere seem dull, but do not let it spoil your energy.
