Foreskin is the ridged band or loose skin that is visible on the penis as a coat. The foreskin acts as a coating layer which covers and protects the ends of the penis. A lot of men suffer from genital problems the most common being itching and burning.
These are the most common genital problems that men suffer from due to lack of hygiene. The foreskin of young and baby boys do not need special care. However, you should wash the skin carefully and properly so as to avoid genital infections. With time and age, the foreskin separates and can be retracted.

Hygiene Tips For Foreskin Care:

1. For young boys and kids, you should not force back the foreskin. With growing age, the skin will open and come backward. Till them, you can wash the foreskin which is visible.
2. Always use mild soap and not the ones which are too scented. Moreover, chemical-free soaps are advised to maintain genital hygiene in men.
3. Clean under the foreskin while bathing. This is applicable to men who have an open foreskin.
4. If you notice whitish-yellow build-up under the foreskin, then it is a sign that you are not maintaining genital hygiene. It is known as smegma and can occur under the foreskin. Wash it every day twice to get rid of it. Smegma can also cause genital odour so, clean it daily.
5. Inflammation in the foreskin of the penis is common among men. The foreskin becomes red and sore at times as well. Avoid irritants like bubble bath, scented soaps and wear loose underwear.
6. Wear loose cotton underwear or boxers. They are comfortable and can also prevent genital problems. Apart from avoiding genital problems like itching, burning etc, cotton underwear dries easily as well. This is because cotton is light and dries easily.
