Tea Or Coffee: The Healthier Choice?
Tea or coffee, what would you prefer? This is not a metaphorical question that is asked socially. It could actually affect your health. We all know about the health benefits of tea. Whether it is black or green tea, each has its own set of benefits for the body. But coffee is generally not included in the list of healthy beverages.
Caffeine present in coffee is actually the reason for its exclusion from the the list of healthy beverages. Caffeine is a stimulant in mild proportions but when it is taken excessively, there are many side effects of it.

Let us examine this myth about tea being healthier than coffee to if it is true. Then we will be in a better decide which is a healthier choice, tea or coffee.
Both tea and coffee have antioxidants. However, these antioxidants are of different types. Tea contains flavinoids that are basically photochemicals. Coffee on the other hand contains quinines and chlorogenic acid. They serve almost the same purpose of getting rid of free radicals from the body.
Coffee has more caffeine. It is a well known fact that coffee has higher caffeine content than tea. The caffeine content of coffee is actually double the caffeine content of tea.
Tea is strained and coffee is mixed. Both tea and coffee have a certain amount of caffeine content. In fact, tea also has traces of nicotine. But the difference is that tea leaves are strained out of the liquor and coffee powder is mixed into the coffee liquor. So more of these harmful components enter your body when you drink coffee.
Tea is healthy for digestion. When it comes to your stomach, there is absolutely no choice of tea and coffee, tea is is the healthier option. Tea is good for digestion and light on the stomach if it is prepared without milk and sugar.
Both tea and coffee fight cancer. Tea drinkers have better protection against ovarian and breast cancer. Coffee drinkers have some amount of immunity against liver cancer.
Caffeine poisoning? Too much of anything is bad. Drinking too much coffee can lead to caffeine poisoning. It affects the central nervous system and causes insomnia, restlessness and headaches. Caffeine poisoning is also associated with miscarriages. Even if you drink too many cups of tea, it will not poison your body like caffeine.
Thus, there is no doubt that tea is healthy, atleast more so than coffee. So what do you prefer after reading this article; tea or coffee?
