Herbal Remedies For Diseases
Most of the times when any health issue strikes us, we tend to take refuge in the shadow of conventional medicines. Many of us are completely unaware of the amazing healing capacities of some herbal plants. These natural remedies can be used to cure many diseases.
In India too, the practice of herbal medicines which is popularly known as the Ayurveda, has been continuing through many centuries.

Here are some common plants and the herbal remedies that they offer.
Herbal Remedies For Diabetes:
Curry leaves (Murraya koenigii)– Curry leaves is a very common ingredient used for cooking Indian dishes. It has an amazing healing effects for diabetics. If 8-10 raw leaves are consumed regularly for at least 3 months, it reduces hereditary diabetes to a greater extent. Apart from curing diabetes, these leaves also helps in reducing weight.
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)– It is widely used in cooking. The regular consumption of cinnamon helps reduce diabetes. Some other spices that are good for diabetics are bay leaves, turmeric and clove.
Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis)– Gooseberry is one of the best herbal remedies for reducing blood sugar in diabetics. You can have it raw or ideally mix it with bitter gourd juice. For best results, have this herb on a regular basis for at least 2-3 months.
Herbal Remedies For Cough and Cold:
Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum)– It is commonly known as basil leaves. You can either have freshly mashed tulsi leaves or tulsi tea in case you catch cold.
Ginger(Zingiber officinale)– Ginger is another good and an effective herbal cure for cold and cough. You can either have it raw or with honey. You can even make flavoured tea.
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)– Cinnamon provides relief from cough and cold. You can have cinnamon tea to cure your itchy throat.
Herbal Remedies To Heal Wounds:
Climbing dayflower (Commelina diffusa)– This plant has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It has the capacity to heal wounds and stop skin infections.
Marigold (Tagetes)– The leaves of this plant are very useful in healing inflammatory wounds. Crush fresh marigold flower petals and apply on the wound.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa)– Turmeric paste has great healing effects on the wounds. It works like a herbal antiseptic.
These are a few regular herbs and the cures that they offer us.
