Here are some basic good health tips so that adolescent girls don't suffer from teenage health problems.

- Watch What You Eat: We see a lot of obese teenagers around these days as because adolescents have bad eating habits. Boys may be able to carry off some extra pounds but social norms judge girls more harshly. So keep those visits to the fast food joints to a minimum.
- Your Bone Health: As girls you need to learn as early as possible that your bones will lose calcium as you age. The process begins right after puberty and continues there after. So one glass of milk or/and a banana is a must for teenage health of a girl. If you ignore this then it may not affect you now but you don't want brittle bones by 40, do you?
- Periods And Hygiene: You start picking up more of vaginal infections and urinary infections after you reach puberty. Personal hygiene during your periods is a must. You are new to this phenomenon of passing blood every month but you will have to live with it for many years; so you better learn to manage it well.
- Menstrual Cramps and Weakness: You are not quite at your best in those 5 days of the month and it bugs you. You cannot get rid of menstruation but what you can do is have a lot of fluids and avoid foods not to eat during periods.
- Record Your Periods: If you ask any 15 year old when was the last time she has her period, she won't be able to give an exact answer. Always record the date of your periods so that you know the exact duration of your cycle. Anything between 28-31 days is normal.
- Irregular Periods: This is one of the most common teenage health problems rampant these days. The reasons could be anything ranging from bad food habits, lifestyle disorders, stress of exams to hormonal imbalance. Whatever it may be you need to see a gynecologist without delay and keep consulting him/her whenever you need.
- Contraception: It is just about time that you know that many of the teenage health problems of girls occur from taking improper contraceptive pills or emergency contraceptives. All these tablets are basically hormone tablets that will mess up your already turbulent hormonal system. Take proper sex education and do not indulge in certain adult pleasure before your age permits.
These tips can help you take care of your teenage health.
