As the chilly winter season sets in it is very likely for the elderly to develop joint pain. But now even the young adults are becoming serious victims of joint pain, and this gets even worse during winters.
The pain becomes so excruciating that it even affects one's day-to-day activities and movement. So how do we prevent joint pain? In order to get rid of this serious condition today we will be explaining a few simple ways to treat joint pain during winter.

Including foods that are good for the joints and muscles is one of the most important preventive measures one could take up.
What exactly causes joint pain? The flexibility of the joints, tendons and ligaments get affected and these become stiff during the winter season. This leads to pain in the joints.

1. Increase Intake Of Vitamin D:
Increase intake of vitamin D like milk and milk products, vegetables like broccoli in your daily diet during winters as this helps in increasing the vitamin level in the body which is good for one's bone health.

2. Include Foods Containing Omega-3 Fatty Acid:
Foods containing omega-3 fatty acids are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Salmon, fish oil and walnuts are a few of the items rich in omega-3 fatty acids that need to be consumed especially during winters.

3. Whole Grains:
Rich in fibre, and a whole lot of nutrients like vitamin, calcium, iron, etc., whole grains should be strictly consumed during winter. These help in keeping the joints and bones healthy.

4. Keep Yourself Hydrated:
People tend to drink less water during winter. It is highly essential to keep your body hydrated as this helps in the movement of joints and prevents joint pain.

5. Include Dried Fruits:
The good fat contained in dried fruits helps in keeping the joints healthy, prevents the wearing of joints and thus helps in easing the pain.

6. Exercises:
Slight exercises like walking, cyclying and some warm up exercises are very important as these improve the blood circulation and help in preventing joint pain.
