Heart is the one of the most vital parts of the human body. When we analyze the measures and habits to keep it healthy in particular to vitamin consumption, we get a lot of facts which help us to understand the uses of the same. Vitamins are available in our daily foods but we are not sure about the type of vitamins we consume and their effect on our body. We will see few heart healthy vitamins that can be included in your diet.
Starting with Vitamin B these have a unique way of preventing heart ailments. Vitamin B contains supplements such as folic acid, Vitamin B6 and B12 which indirectly reduces risk of heart attack. Our blood has an amino acid named homocysteine which reduces the flow of blood through blood vessels and induce cells clumping. This in turn creates blocks in arteries and veins and results in heart attack. The Vitamin B supplements helps in reducing the homocysteine level in the blood.

Vitamin E has the capacity to reduce the risk of heart disease up to 40%. Vitamin E is widely found in spinach, nuts and seeds, pepper, olive oil, corn, etc. This supplement acts as an antioxidant and protects the blood from fat deposits. This lowers the bad cholesterol and helps to retain good cholesterol, thus avoids the clumping of fat in the arteries, sticking of cells, and induces a smooth blood flow. There is a close resemblance with Vitamin C and selenium, as they help in recycling the Vitamin E supplements and acts as antioxidants to create in healthy blood vessels.
Apart from these, calcium (Vitamin D) and magnesium helps in maintaining a healthy heart and regulates the heart beat respectively. CoQ10 or Coenzyme Q10 helps maintain blood pressure and have a healthy heart.
Omega-3 fatty acids is healthy for the heart. Fishes like salmon, mackerel, sardines, tuna, etc have this rich supplement in them. EPA and DHA reduces the risk of heart diseases and patients with heart diseases are adviced to have this healthy vitamin supplement. Patients with high triglycerides can also consume omega-3 fatty acids to have a healthy heart.
As a concluding statement it is not only the vitamins and minerals, but also a good amount of physical activity helps in maintaining a healthy heart. Climbing stairs in office or in your flat, yoga, meditation, breathing exercise, etc can reduce cholesterol and fat accumulation in the body.
