Father’s Day: 5 Yoga Poses To Do With Your Dad With Arthritis
Father's Day can be a challenging time for those who have a dad with arthritis. Arthritis can make it difficult for fathers to participate in physical activities, but that doesn't mean they have to miss out on all the fun.

Yoga can be a great way for dads with arthritis to stay active and bond with their children, and with International Day of Yoga around the corner, what best way to spend some quality time with your dad - all the while - getting some workout in!
Yoga Poses To Do With Your Dad With Arthritis
Below are five yoga poses that are gentle on the joints and can be done with your dad on Father's Day.
1. Mountain Pose
Mountain pose is a great way to start any yoga practice. This pose is done standing up, and it helps to improve posture and balance.
To do this pose, stand up straight with your feet hip-width apart. Keep your arms at your sides and your shoulders relaxed. Take a deep breath in and raise your arms overhead. Hold this pose for a few breaths, then release.
2. Warrior II Pose
Warrior II pose is a great way to work on strength and balance. This pose is done standing up, with one foot forward and one foot back.
To do this pose, stand with your feet hip-width apart. Step your left foot back and turn it out to a 90-degree angle. Bend your right knee and stretch your arms out to the sides. Hold this pose for a few breaths, then switch sides.

3. Downward-Facing Dog Pose
Downward-facing dog pose is a great way to stretch the hamstrings and lower back. This pose is done on the floor, with your hands and feet on the ground.
To do this pose, start on your hands and knees. Lift your hips up and back, straightening your arms and legs. Keep your heels on the ground and your head between your arms. Hold this pose for a few breaths, then release.
4. Child's Pose
Child's pose is a great way to release tension in the back and neck. This pose is done on the floor, with your arms at your sides and your forehead on the ground.
To do this pose, start on your hands and knees. Sit back on your heels and stretch your arms out in front of you. Rest your forehead on the ground and breathe deeply. Hold this pose for a few breaths, then release.
5. Tree Pose
Tree pose is a great way to work on balance and focus. This pose is done standing up, with one foot rooted into the ground and the other foot resting on the opposite leg.
To do this pose, stand up straight with your feet hip-width apart. Lift your left foot and place it on your right leg, either above or below the knee. Press your foot into your leg and bring your hands together in front of your chest. Hold this pose for a few breaths, then switch sides.
