Lakmé Fashion Week 2023: Konkan Sen Sharma, Mandira Bedi, Sonali Bendre Walk As Guest For Designer Anavila
Ace designer Anavila Misra's 'Dabu' from Anavila Collection looked like a dream at the grand opening of The Atelier on Sustainable Fashion Day at Lakme Fashion Week 2023 in partnership with FDCI.

The uncut and unstitched sarees looked like a perfect canvas for ancient storytelling of 'Dabu', which comes from the Hindi term 'dabana' or press is an ancient mud resist hand block printing technique that has its roots in Rajasthan, and whose origins can be traced back to 675 A.D. The idea was to create something beautiful through the mud, which is a healer in the fabric of life.
Anavila says, 'This collection brings forth the relationship between not only the art and the artisan, but also a deep, symbolic bond between human beings and the earth they stand on.'
Saree is ever-evolving and presents us with infinite opportunities for styling and draping. This collection was a sight to behold not only because it was a star-studded affair, but because women walked the ramp donning beautiful drapes without a blouse, petticoat or even a single stitch. This was a treat for all senses.

The 6-yard wonder on the runway highlighted the glory of sarees through print motifs that were inspired by natural surroundings, architectural geometry and local flora and fauna. Natural dyes such as indigo, madder, sage green, ochre, kashish, ivory and black, teamed up with the presence of gold and silver added further elegance to the drapes and spoke volumes about paying homage to mother nature.
Konkona Sen Sharma, Sonali Bendre, Mandira Bedi, Sheeba Chaddha, Manasi Scott, Sonali Kulkarni, Ashwini Iyer, Rajshri Despande, Monica Dogra, Sona Mohapatra, and Gauri Shinde were in attendance and bedazzled everyone with their presence. Check out the looks and build your spring wardrobe by taking a cue from your favourite stars.
