It is impossible to replicate the taste of your mother's cooking. But you can take a close shot at making this Indian aloo recipe yourself. This is, after all, one of the easy potato recipes that you will come by.

Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Potatoes- 4
- Pepper corns- 15 (crushed)
- Green chillies- 2 (chopped)
- Fenugreek seeds (methi)- ½ tsp
- Turmeric- ½ tsp
- Ghee- 2tbsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Sugar- ½ tsp
Procedure
- Boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker for the duration of 2 whistles.
- Peel the potatoes and smash them roughly.
- Heat ghee in a skillet and season it with methi seeds, ½ tsp crushed peppercorns and green chillies.
- Add the potatoes and mix it up with seasoned ghee. Cook on low flame for 2 minutes.
- Then, sprinkle the crushed peppercorns from the top along with salt and turmeric.
- Mix it up uniformly and cook for 5 minutes on a low flame.
- Also, add a little sugar in the end to balance the taste.
You can have aloo kali mirch ka chokha with steaming hot puris.
