Potato And Peas Cutlet For Breakfast
Cutlets can be the ideal breakfast for you. It is easy to make, filling and tastes yummy too. Most of the people do not feel like eating anything in the morning. Thus, delicious breakfast recipes like cutlets can be tried for bringing that hunger!
There are many cutlet recipes that you can try for breakfast. Potato and peas cutlet is a delicious and easy to prepare breakfast recipe. The stuffing of potato and peas cutlet definitely contains these two main vegetables as the chief ingredients. However, some spices like green chilli, red chilli powder, ginger, garlic, etc makes it an aromatic and yummy dish to try at home. During monsoons, you can treat your taste buds with potato and peas cutlet. Check out the recipe.
Potato And Peas Cutlet, Breakfast Recipe:

Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- Potatoes- 8-10 (boiled)
- Green peas- ½ cup (frozen)
- Onion- 2 (finely chopped)
- Green chillies- 3-4 (chopped)
- Garlic- 2-3 pods (minced)
- Ginger- ½ inch (chopped)
- Turmeric powder- 2tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1tbsp
- Garam masala- 1tsp
- Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
- Bay leaf- 1
- Oil- 1 cup
- Salt- as per taste
Procedure
- Peel the potatoes and mash them with the back of a wide spoon. Keep them in a deep bottomed bowl.
- Heat 1tbsp oil in a frying pan. Season with cumin seeds and bay leaf.
- Add onions, ginger, garlic, green peas and green chillies. Mix well and saute on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Add garam masala, salt and mix well.
- Now add the mashed potatoes and mix well so that the masala is absorbed by the potatoes. Put the pan off flame.
- Meanwhile heat a tawa (griddle) on a high flame.
- Make round cutlets of the mashed potato and peas cutlet masala with your hands.
- Spread oil on the tawa and then slowly place the cutlets. Fry them on a medium flame. Turn on the other side to allow even cooking.
Potato and peas cutlet masala is ready to eat. Serve it hot with tomato sauce or tamarind chutney.
