Healthy Soya Upma Recipe For Breakfast
There is an old saying which goes like this - Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar. Breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day. Therefore, one should always eat something which the stomach would like. There are a number of tasty recipes for you to try out, but nothing is better than this soya upma recipe.
This soya upma recipe provides you en number of nutrients and nourishes your body. This simple soya upma recipe helps to maintain bone and regulates your menstrual cycle. Soya is also a good source of energy, therefore this soya upma recipe is a good choice for breakfast.
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients
- Soya flakes- ½ cup
- Ginger - 1 (chopped)
- Rava - 1 cup
- Green chillies - 3 (chopped)
- Beans - 4 nos (chopped)
- Carrots - 1 no (chopped)
- Onion - 1 (diced)
- Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
- Chana dal - 1 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Jeera seeds - ½ tsp
- Raw peanuts - 2 tsp
- Curry Leaf - 10 nos (chopped)
- Water - 2 cups
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Lemon - ½ (juice )
- Ghee - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Preparation
- In a deep bottomed pan, heat the oil.
- Add the mustard seeds, chana dal and urad dal. Fry till they turn golden brown in colour.
- Now add the chopped curry leaves and ginger to the mixture and fry for a few seconds.
- Add onions, green chillies and the vegetables, and mix continuously.
- Pour water and the salt. Bring it to boil.
- Sprinkle the soya flakes in the above mixture and stir.
- Cook at medium flame till it thickens. Stir at short intervals so that it doesn't stick to the surface of the pan.
- Squeeze the lemon juice over the upma. Mix well.
You can now add ghee on top of the upma (not mandatory). Your easy soya upma is ready to eat for breakfast.
