Aloo Pyaz Paratha: Breakfast Recipe
Paratha is one of the most preferred breakfast dish in most of the Indian households. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarians have parathas as it is a filling breakfast dish which is healthy too. Parathas are prepared with whole grains which are not only easy to digest, but healthy too.
There are numerous paratha recipes that you can try. From simple to heavy parathas, the stuffing can vary as per choices and flavours. Aloo paratha is one of the most commonly prepared stuffed paratha. The recipe is very simple too. Most of the people do not add onion and only eat aloo paratha. So, we decided to bring a change in your taste buds by offering a new recipe. Aloo and pyaz paratha is a simple recipe which is easy to prepare and tastes delicious too! Take a look.
Aloo and pyaz paratha recipe:

Serves: 3
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- Aloo- 3-4
- Onions- 2 (chopped finely)
- Green chilli- 2-3 (chopped)
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1½ tsp
- Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- ½ cup
For Paratha
- Wheat flour- 1 ½ cup
- Water- 2 cups
- Oil- 1tsp
Procedure
- Wash the potatoes and cut them into 4 halves. Pressure cook for the duration of 4 whistles.
- Meanwhile, knead a soft dough with the paratha ingredients. Cover and keep aside.
- Once done, let the pressure release and then open the lid. Peel the potatoes and keep aside.
- Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a frying pan. Season with cumin seeds.
- When the seeds start to splutter, add chopped onions, green chillies and mix well. Add salt and turmeric powder.
- Now add the boiled potatoes and mash it with a masher. Mix all the ingredients and let it cool.
- Heat a griddle (tawa). Roll rotis and stuff them with the aloo and pyaz stuffing. Join and roll into a ball.
- Roast on the tawa on both the sides using oil. You can even use ghee for roasting paratha. Repeat the process with the remaining stuffing masala.
Aloo and pyaz parathas are ready to eat. Serve them hot with curd or mango pickle.
