South Indian Style Mysore Pak Recipe For Narasimha Jayanti
Try out this amazing South Indian style Mysore Pak recipe that can be prepared on the occasion of Narasimha Jayanti.
Narasimha Jayanti is one of the most celebrated religious occasions among South Indians, when Narasimha, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is worshipped. The legend of Narasimha is known to all.
He was the half-lion half-man form who saved Prahlada from his demon father, Hiranyakashyapu. To commemorate the day, the temple of Sri Prahlada Narasimha is decorated with flowers and garlands.
The auspicious day of Shukla Chaturdasi of Vaisakha Masam (beginning of May) is celebrated as Narasimha Jayanti.

Whenever any occasion is celebrated in India, the cuisine plays an essential role.
If Ugadi Pachadi is unique to celebrate Ugadi, Mysore Pak can be offered to Lord Narasimha on this festival.
Mysore Pak is one of the most famous South Indian sweets. It doesn't take much time to prepare this dish once you have all the ingredients ready. So, celebrate this Narasimha Jayanti with some homemade Mysore Pak. Continue reading to know more about this recipe.
Serves - 12 pieces
Preparation Time - 10 minutes
Cooking Time - 20 minutes
Ingredients:
1. Sugar: 2 cups
2. Besan: 1 cup
3. Water: ½ cup
4. Ghee: 1 cup
5. Vegetable Oil: 1 cup
Procedure:
1. Take a flat tray and grease it well with ghee. Keep it aside.
2. Sieve the besan well, so that no lumps remain in it. Also, keep it aside.
3. Take a deep-bottomed kadai and heat ghee and oil together. Heat it until it becomes completely hot. Then, simmer and let it heat.
4. Put another pan on the stove and pour water into it. Add sugar and prepare the sugar syrup. Continue to stir it and let it become thicker. You need a single thread consistency of this mixture.
5. Now, add besan into the sugar mixture and stir continuously. Stir the mixture in medium high flame and cook until all ingredients combine well.
6. Add a ladle full of ghee and oil mixture into the besan-sugar mixture and stir until you get a smooth texture of the mixture.
7. Repeat the process of adding ghee-oil mixture and stirring it to get a smooth and tight consistency. Stir until the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan and becomes porous and frothy.
8. Turn off the stove and immediately transfer the mixture into the greased tray and flatten it well covering the complete tray.
9. Once it is completely cool, cut in squares or diamonds. Mysore Pak is now ready.
