Jackfruit Payasam Recipe – Navratri Festive Delicacies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup jackfruit (sliced)
- 1-1.5 cup jaggery (Based on sweetness of jackfruit)
- 1 cup thick coconut milk
- Pinch of cardamom
- Pinch of salt
- 2-3 tsp rice flour
- 8-10 cashew nuts
- 10-12 raisins
- 2-3 tsp ghee
How To Make Jackfruit Payasam?
1. In a vessel, add powdered jaggery with little water and boil it until it melts completely.
2. Add coconut milk to the boiling jaggery syrup and stir well.
3. With a teaspoon of ghee, fry jackfruit until it changes color.
4. Add the jackfruit slices to the coconut milk mixture and stir well. Cook on simmer until the slices are well baked. Rice flour paste can be added if you want the payasam even thicker.
5. Garnish with cardamom and ghee fried cashews and raisins. Tasty navratri recipe is ready to serve.
