Prawn Chilli With Honey & Mustard
Seafood is a staple food of many coastal regions. From Kerala to West Bengal, people in coastal regions love to make different seafood dishes. Seafood is healthy too. They are low in fat and are filled with proteins like Omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, iodine, phosphorous etc. These proteins and nutrients protect the heart from blockage and also prevent weight gain. There are many types of seafood that you can prepare at home.
From fish, crabs to prawns, you can try a variety of food items with these ingredients. If you love prawns, then here is a special sweet and spicy prawn chilli recipe. This dish is made using honey, baked prawns and mustard seeds. The best part about this dish is, it is healthy and low in fat as it is baked and not fried.

Prawns chilli with honey and mustard recipe:
Serves: 2-3
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes (except marinating)
Ingredients
- Tiger prawns- 10-15 (peeled and de-veined)
- Mustard seeds- 2tbsp
- Honey-2tbsp
- Garlic paste- 1tsp
- Ginger- 1 inch (grated)
- Lemon juice- 2tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Chilli sauce- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Water- ½ cup
- Olive oil- 1 ½ tbsp
Procedure
- Preheat the oven to the highest temperature.
- In a grinder, grind mustard seeds, ginger, garlic and salt with water.
- Take the prawns in a plate. Do not cut the tails. Now cut them into two halves (lengthwise) and then add them in a bowl.
- Add lemon juice, salt and soak them in chilled water. Marinate for 15-20 minutes in cold water. Drain and then wipe them with tissue papers.
- In a bowl, add prawns, red chilli powder, chilli sauce the grounded paste, honey and oil. Mix and then shift it into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes and then take out.
Prawns chilli with honey and mustard is ready to eat. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and lemon slices. Serve it hot to enjoy the soft and juicy seafood. You can have this as a side dish with boiled rice. Prawns are consumed on a regular basis but make sure, you don't hog on it a lot. Excessive consumption of any food can be dangerous for the health.
