Special Butter Chicken Recipe
The weekend is here and you just cannot miss out butter chicken from your menu. Butter chicken is one of the most celebrated chicken recipes of India. The soft and juicy chicken, cooked with butter simply melts into your mouth and leaves you craving for more.
Butter chicken is one of the easy chicken recipes that you can try. It is also one of the perfect chicken recipe for the beginners. You just need some time and patience to prepare it. Marinate the chicken with curd and spices for an hour and then cook it in a butter based gravy. Sounds simple, right?

So, try out this special butter chicken recipe this weekend and surprise your family & friends with this delicious and finger-licking treat.
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 1 hour
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- Chicken- 1kg (cut into medium size pieces)
- Thick curd- 1 cup
- Ginger garlic paste- 4tsp
- Red chilli powder- 2tsp
- Garam masala powder- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Red tandoori colour- ½ tsp
- Tomatoes- 4 (finely chopped)
- Methi (fenugreek) seeds- ½ tsp
- Hot n sweet tomato sauce- 4 tbsp
- Cream- 1 cup
- Cashew nuts- Few (made into a paste)
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped)
- Oil- 1tsp
- Butter- 2tbsp
Procedure
- To the curd add two teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste, one teaspoon of red chilli powder, salt and red tandoori colour.
- Wash and then marinate the chicken with this mixture for about 1 hour.
- After 1 hour, oven grill the chicken or you can either fry it in a little butter.
- In a separate vessel, add oil and fry methi seeds.
- Add two teaspoons of ginger-garlic paste and tomatoes.
- Stir and mix thoroughly.
- Now add butter (don't stir) and let the tomatoes cook, with closed lid on slow flame.
- When oil separates add one teaspoon of red chilli powder, garam masala, cream and grilled chicken. Stir and mix well.
- Next add the cashew nut paste and hot n sweet tomato sauce. Mix well. Close the lid.
- Let it cook on slow for a while (5-10 mins). Check for salt and at last garnish with coriander leaves.
Your butter chicken recipe is ready to be served. Relish it with some hot naans or rotis. Prepare a little more gravy if you want to serve with rice.
