Indo-Chinese Chilli Garlic Chicken Recipe
Chinese street food is what we all love more than the authentic dim sums and soups that we get in posh restaurants. This is because we get the mix of Indian and Chinese spices only out on the streets. This is what makes them delectable to the Indian taste buds because we love the spice in our food.
Originally, Chinese food is bland and uses very less spices. But when the Chinese cuisine blends with the Indian taste, it gets completely altered to a delicious new Indo-Chinese dish. An example of this blend can be this Indo-Chinese garlic chilli chicken recipe. The crisp chicken fritters are cooked in a spicy garlic-chilli gravy with a mix of Chinese sauces.

Cooking time: 30 minutes

All you need
- Chicken- 500 gms
- Lemon juice- 1tbsp
- Black pepper- 2tsp (crushed)
- Chili flakes - 1tsp
- Chili garlic paste - 1tbsp
- Cornflour - 2tbsp
- Egg white - 1
- Garlic - 3tbsp (minced)
- Ginger - 1tsp (minced)
- Onion - 1/2 cup (chopped)
- Salt - as per taste
- Soya sauce - 2 tbsp
- Tomato sauce - 1/3 cup
- Oil - 1tbsp
- Sugar - 1tbsp
- Oil- for deep frying

Procedure
1. Wash the chicken pieces thoroughly with water.
2. Marinate the chicken pieces with lemon juice, crushed black pepper, egg white, one tablespoon of cornflour and salt. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.
3. After that deep fry the chicken pieces in oil till they turn golden brown in colour.
4. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan and add the minced ginger and garlic. Fry for a minute.
5. Then add the onions and saute for 3-4 minutes.
6. After that, add the chilli garlic paste, chilli flakes, soya sauce, tomato sauce, sugar, a cup of water and allow the mixture to boil.
7. Now, add salt and the fried chicken pieces. Mix well.
8. Mix one tablespoon of cornflour with water and add it to the pan. Mix well.
9. Once done, switch off the flame and serve.
The Indo-Chinese recipe of garlic chilli chicken is ready to be served. It goes well with fried rice or noodles.

Nutritional Value
This recipe is definitely not for dieters. It contains a good amount of calories and saturated fats. It is high on sodium and dietary fibres as well.
Tip
Add the fried chicken pieces only before serving the curry. It keeps the fritters crunchy.
