LFW 2023 Beauty Trends: Dyed Tongues And Coloured Teeth Are Trending Now!
At London Fashion Week AW23, apart from the artistic and inspirational ensembles, it is the 'futuristic and thoughtful' beauty trends that caught the attention! Designers including Chet Lo, Simone Rocha, and others showcased their collections wherein colourful tongues, blue eyeshadow, fake freckles and more such interesting beauty looks were displayed for becoming the latest beauty trends!
Here's a list of the newest beauty trends that are taken straight from the LFW 2023 ramp:
Dyed Tongues and Coloured Teeth
In May 2021, American rapper Machine Gun Kelly showed up at the Billboard Music Awards by dyeing his tongue in black paint. The painting your tongue trend was not a passing fad it seems! At the London Fashion Week 2023, the trend was back on the runway with designer Chet Lo's latest collection! The models walked the ramp by flaunting colourful tongues and stained teeth.
The models walked the runway with tongues dyed in eye-catchy shades of red, green and blue. The inspiration behind this bizarre yet interesting look was bioluminescence - the light produced by living organisms used to attract mates or attack predators. The designer also took to the runway at the end of his show and showed off his own tongue dyed in a bright blue hue and teeth stained in the same eye-catchy hue!
Red Ribbons
Gone are the days when laces and ribbons were used for styling the hair or added as an embellishment on outfits. Turns out you can sport them as a part of your beauty look as well. At Simone Rocha AW23 LFW Dazed beauty collection, the designer found inspiration from the Irish harvest festival of Lughnasadh. With bounteous silhouettes and puffed outfits stuffed with real hay and macramé straw; the collection appeared picturesque!
For the beauty look, red ribbons were utilized extensively in the hair, outfits to even eye makeup of the models. The idea or story behind the same was to showcase the blood that was painted on children's faces as a part of the tradition to ward off evil spirits.
Blue eyeshadow
Even though blue or colourful eyeshadow is always in trend for creating the Y2K-inspired look, it will always be in vogue. At LFW 2023, Connor Ives and Dilara Fındıkoğlu AW 23 shows, the models walked the runway by featuring dreamy blue eyeshadow looks courtesy of makeup gurus Lucy Bridge and Ana Takahashi respectively.
Since blue shadows make a sharp and statement choice for eye makeup, it is best to keep the rest of the makeup light and natural. The idea is to let the eyes do the talking!
Freckles and Lights
The best words to describe the collection of Mowalola at the LFW 2023 are dark and twisted! The inspiration behind the curated collection was definitely the end of days NYC that sort of represented moody and anxiety-filled avatars. The ace makeup artist highlighted the look of the models by adding fake freckles and fairy lights. The mini lights on the face added a dark futuristic outlook. A perfect blend of natural and man-made seems to be the inspiration for this chosen beauty look!
