Nikhil Thampi's Tribal Style At LFW 2013
Day 1 of Lakme Fashion Week 2013 has shown some interesting collection on the ramp. Next in line at Day 1 of LFW 2013 was Nikhil Thampi's winter collection. For the lack of a better word, we are calling it the tribal inspired collection of winter clothing. We saw models dressed distinctly in tribal style, walk the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week 2013 for Nikhil Thampi.
The uniformity in the collection was maintained by models wearing big nose studs on both their nostrils. That is why, we are calling it the tribal collection. The clothes were mostly Indian. There were a couple of sarees and some lehenga style skirts as well. Nikhil Thampi also gave us a few dhoti wraps in his collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2013.
The fabric used in the designs was predominantly silk. Although the collection was not distinctly for cold weather, it did not look very summery either. The colour palate included blacks, golds and browns.
Here are some of the best designs from Nikhil Thampi's Lakme Fashion Week 2013 Winter Festive collection.

Black n Matte Gold Monochrome
This collection had an extravagance of black and matte gold monochromes. The first outfit is a plain round neck black blouse with a block printed lehenga skirt. The second outfit has a monochrome choli and a golden dhoti wrap bottom.

Black Scooped Dress
This long black gown was full-sleeved and had a scooped back. The dress was also scooped from the sides in triangles. The details on the dress were matte gold.

White n Gold Saree
This silk saree had a thick border of yellow gold. There was a neat coin pattern established in the golden border. The saree was draped without a blouse.

Steel Grey Saree
This steel grey silk saree is completely plain. But the golden coins strung together at the waist make it look distinct.

Strapless Matte Gold Maxi Dress
This strapless maxi dress is more like a sheath. It has been draped over a black body suit. The black and gold arm band completes the tribal look.

Sheer Golden Bandhgala
This white outfit basically comprises of a white blouse and a bikini top. A sheer golden bandhgala jacket has been draped over the outfit.

Black Lehenga Choli
The showstopper's outfit was a black lehenga choli. The choli is a scooped blouse with a plunging neckline. The lehenga has matte gold pattern on it. One of the distinct patterns is a Kathakali mask.
