Zero Frills, High Results: 5 No-Fuss Skincare Hacks For Men
Yes, skincare is often labelled as a feminine thing. But, in reality, clear, healthy skin is for everyone! And the good part? You don't need to follow a complicated beauty regimen to get the magazine-model skin. Some smart changes in your daily habits can make a sea difference!
Whether you are a glow-up newbie or wish to upgrade your grooming game; these effective tips will form a solid skincare foundation!
Cleanse Without Fail
A clean canvas is the cornerstone of flawless skin. Cleansing removes dirt and excess oil formed with sweat, pollution, and daily life. Avoiding this crucial step can lead to breakouts, clogged pores, and a dull-looking appeal.
Wash your face with a mild cleanser that matches your skin type. For example, a foaming or gel-based cleanser works best for the oily skin. Whereas dry skin can be refreshed with a lotion or cream-based face wash. Wash the face twice a day (once in the morning and once before bedtime). This two-minute routine will keep your face fresh and breakout-free!
Don't Skip To Moisturize
No, moisturizing can't be an option. It's a must-have! Your skin requires hydration, no matter your skin type. A good moisturizer prevents dryness, keeping the skin balanced and adds a healthy glow.
The key here is to choose the right formula. For oily and acne-prone skin, choose an oil-free gel or lightweight formula. For flaky or dry skin, select a richer cream. And for the combination skin type, choose something in between. Apply it right after you cleanse the face. The reason? The skin locks in the hydration when it is slightly damp!
Sunscreen Is Non Negotiable
Fine lines, dark spots, wrinkles, and sagging skin are common issues. The trick to tackle it? Use sunscreen every day. Yes, even when you are indoors. The UV rays penetrate the glass and cause long-term damage to your skin.
Choose a SPF 30 or higher, broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin. You can even invest in a moisturizer with SPF to receive dual benefits. The goal here is to achieve consistency and not perfection!
Exfoliate To Stay Sharp
Dead skin cells built up on the face, making it appear rough and lifeless. Combat the same with exfoliation. It helps unclog pores, clears away buildup, and reveals smoother, even skin.
Every once or twice a week, use a mild scrub or a chemical exfoliator. Don't exfoliate too much because this can lead to redness and inflammation. Additionally, if you shave frequently, this little procedure might help prevent ingrown hairs.
Sleep, Eat And Hydrate
Skincare isn't limited to the sink in your bathroom. Your skin's appearance and feel are greatly influenced by your food, sleeping patterns, and degree of moisture. Drinking two to three litters of water every day helps to flush out toxins and maintain beautiful skin.
Consume foods that promote healthy skin, such as citrus fruits, berries, leafy greens, almonds, and omega-3-rich fish. Reduce your intake of oily, sugary foods that cause breakouts, inflammation, and dullness.
Also, don't undervalue the importance of getting enough sleep. To give your skin time to heal, rejuvenate, and glow naturally, try to get 7 to 8 hours each night!
