Stop Your Lips From Getting Chapped In Winter
During winter, when it gets cold, the humidity gets worse as the air gets dry, and the cold chilling wind can quickly dry out your lips and make them sore and chapped.
Chapping of lips is a very common problem seen during the winter season.
Studies reveal that the skin on your lips is very thin and does not produce oil. This is one of the main reasons why moisturising our lips becomes an even more important task during the winter season.
With so many home-made lip balms that are available around, you can keep your lips soft and supple. Some people suffer from chapped lips more than others.
Cracking a smile with chapped lips is not at all pleasing, so you need to take care of your lips. You need to make sure to provide the extra moisture that your chapped lips require.
However, if you are one of those who always seems to get dry, cracked lips in the winter, we have a few simple tips that will help keep chapped lips at bay.
Here are seven natural ways to stop your lips from chapping in the cold weather. Have a look and do try them out.

Use A Humidifier
To keep ourselves warm during winter, we use various techinques to stay warm. In this process, we tend to make our lips even more drier. To give your lips a chance to recover overnight, use a humidifier in your bedroom. It also helps to avoid dry skin on your hands and face.

Use A Lip Balm Before Face Wash
Dab some lip balm on your lips before you wash your face, as it will protect your lips from getting dried. Ingredients like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide make the skin dry.

Avoid Licking Your Lips
Avoid licking your lips often. We often tend to lick our lips even more when it turns dry. It will eventually just make things worse. Studies reveal that our saliva contains acids that are meant to breakdown the food particles and those acids will just dry up our lips and make them even sorer. So, avoid licking them often.

Exfoliate
Exfoliate your lips often to remove the dead skin. Use a good moisturiser or a lip balm to clean your lips, and make them more soft and supple. Use home-made tricks of mixing honey and sugar and use it as a scrub and a natural exfoliator.

Use Shea Butter
This trick works wonders on dry, chapped lips. Apply some shea butter to regain the lost moisture on your lips. For best results, you can apply it overnight and wash it the next morning to get soft and supple lips.

Castor Oil
Using castor oil for chapped lips is an age-old remedy. Apply some castor oil on your lips, a couple of times during the day, and it will protect your lips from the cold and lock in the moisture.

Rose Water And Honey
Make a mix of rosewater and honey. This mix acts as a great lip moisturiser. Apply it on your chapped lips and it will nourish your lips and make it more soft and moisturised.
