Homemade Astringents For Clear Skin
An astringent is a beauty product that is applied on the skin to cleanse it, open skin pores and cures acne. A natural astringent treats dry, sensitive, oily and irritated skin. From acne to red spots to itching, applying an astringent will be a great natural remedy. There are many homemade ways to make astringent that are 100% natural. This is an effective beauty product that is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that will nourish the skin, soften it and help you get glowing and flawless skin. Lets check few natural astringents that can be made at home.
Homemade astringents:

Cucumber astringent: This juicy vegetable is a natural astringent that not only cleanses but also tones and lightens the skin. To reduce dark spots and treat oily skin, just wash your face with water and rub a freshly cut cucumber slice. Massage for 2-4 minutes and then rinse with milk and then water. You will get a glowing skin naturally. You can also massage your face with cucumber and lemon juice to get a fresh, clean and glowing skin.
Sandalwood astringent: You can either use sandalwood powder or oil. Just mix it with almond oil, honey, orange peel powder and rose water. Mix well. Add a small pinch of baking soda and then soak a cotton ball in the mix. Apply on the clean face and leave for 2-4 minutes. Rinse and get fresh skin free from dark spots and dead skin cells.
Rose water: This is another natural astringent that can help you get a clear and glowing skin naturally. You can mix rose water, lemon juice with an essential oil (almond oil or coconut oil). With the help of a cotton ball, apply it on clean face and neck. You can store this astringent for a week or more and use it 2-3 times a day.
Lemon and orange: Dry orange peels and then grind them into a fine powder. Add few drops of lemon juice and then apply on the face. This homemade face pack acts like an astringent to open skin pores, remove dead skin cells, blackheads and acne. You can apply this face pack on alternative days.
These are few homemade astringents that are really effective. Always cleanse the face properly before applying an astringent. If you have dry skin, apply a moisturiser after using the astringent. Sometimes, astringent can dry the face and tighten the skin. To prevent formation of fine lines, use a moisturiser. If you apply lemon, make sure you moisturise your skin afterward. Lemon dries the skin and makes it harsh.
