Pick The Right Face Cream
Choosing the right face cream is not an easy task. In the recent times beauty market has been flooded with many brands of face creams, confusing the customers to make the right choice. Before selecting a face cream, the first thing that you have to keep in your mind is to know your skin better, i.e. understand your skin type and pick the face cream accordingly.
There are four major skin types, normal, dry, oily and combination skin. Sensitive skin is another addition to this set. You can understand your skin type by following these.
- Wash your face with a mild face wash, for eg : Pears, Clean and Clear or Himalaya.
- Wait for an hour and notice if your skin feels tight.
- Dab tissues onto your centre cheeks, outer cheeks, centre of forehead, outer forehead, nose and chin.
- Now look for oil or flaky skin remains on the tissues.
- If you have oil on every tissue then you have an oily skin.
- If you notice oil only in tissues that is from your forehead, chin and nose, then you have a combination skin.
- If you notice flaky skin remains on the tissues than you have a dry skin.
- If you find no oil or flaky skin remains on any of the tissues, then you are blessed with a normal skin.
Normal Skin : If you have a normal skin then you are lucky. Because this skin type is free from pimples and break outs. As yours is the normal skin, you can try any face cream. It is also advised to follow a regular cleaning, toning and moisturising regime to maintain your skin.
Oily Skin : Oily skin faces problems like break outs, pimples, greasy look etc. In order to take care of oily skin it's advised to wash your face at least three times a day and pick water based creams.
Dry Skin : Dry skin type faces problems like fine face lines, wrinkles and less moisture. To avoid these problems, after cleansing your face apply moisturiser and nourishing face creams. Such creams help in the nourishment of your skin.
Combination Skin : As the name says this skin type is a combination of dry and oily skin. Such skin type requires special care. Keep your skin moisturised and before going to bed use skin toners.
Sensitive Skin : This skin type is soft and delicate. Such skin type is exposed to skin allergies and other skin problems. Hence it requires extra care while picking face creams. It is advised to go for face creams with natural ingredients and hypo-allergenic formulas. The best way to choose your face cream is by testing the chosen cream on a small area of your hand. If you experience any skin irritation then don't go for that face cream.
