Winter Grooming Rules For Men
Arrival of winter brings a new set of challenges in order to groom well even among men. Men can no longer stay ignorant and have a single yard stick for all seasons. There are so many changes in atmosphere during winter which makes grooming your skin and hair a lot different to that of other seasons. It is wise to stay prepared for the winter chill with more than just warm clothing and gloves.
You will need to stock on a set of winter care products to protect your skin and hair from the harsh cold and dry chilling air during winter. Winter requires different kind of moisturising to hair and skin compared to moisturising required during summer. During winter, your skin and hair produce less oil naturally resulting in dryness. Your scalp tend to get lot more dandruff than normal, chads on your lips become regular problem and you start to get dry patchy skin issues.

First rule of winter grooming requires you to stay moisturised at all times and maintain good hydration level in your body no matter how many times you need to relieve your bladder. You need to use a good moisture retaining conditioner after you shower your hair. Moisturising isn't limited just to your face and hair, you need to apply moisturising creams or lotions to rest of your body to avoid dry rashes and itching skin. Lips are another important area not to neglect during winter.
Here is some winter grooming rules for men.
- Moisturise your face with a quality moisturising cream or lotion. Prefer those with organic ingredients or pure herbal extracts for better results with minimal side effects. Air is particularly dry during winter, hence choose a stronger moisturising options during this season.
- As the weather is cold and dry, make sure you swap your regular face wash with that of a moisturising face wash. A good quality moisturising face wash would cleanse your pores without drying your skin. Regular face wash tend to strip your facial skin of essential oils depriving it of moisture.
- Change your regular soap with a cream bathing bar or a moisturising body wash. You don't want rest of your body dry and patchy while your face is glowing with life. Cream bars tend to retain a lot of moisture in your skin after the bath making it ideal replacement for regular soaps.
- After pampering your body skin with a moisturising bath, a certain amount of moisture is lost no matter what kind of body wash you use. Hence, using a moisturising body lotion to replenish your skin with moisture is essential. Apply a good quality body lotion that is good at retaining moisture in your skin.
- Always keep a lip balm handy. It is small to carry and convenient to use. Your lip skin is very tender and sensitive to outside weather. As it dries fast during winter, apply generous amount of moisturising lip balm regularly. Prefer those meant for men that can be applied by a finger.
- Using a anti-dandruff conditioner is critical in hair care during winter. As your scalp gets dry and scaly, dandruff starts to build at a faster rate. Hence, you need to use a anti-dandruff conditioner that helps in keeping your scalp moist and free of dandruff during cold winters.
- Hydration levels in your body drop as there is less intake of regular water due to cold weather. Drinking less than required quantity of water during winter causes your skin to flake. You tend to get dandruff, hair breakage, hair fall and rough hair related problems due to lack of moisture.
