Indian Traditional Outfit For Men On Pongal

Pongal or Sankranti, an old traditional festival is celebrated by Indians who dress up in their best Indian traditional outfits like that of the dhoti and Angavastram for men, whereas the women look beautiful in half sarees known as Pavada Davani.
For Indian men on this festival, their dress code is either the dhoti or the Angavastram.
The Dhoti – An Indian traditional outfit especially worn by men on auspicious occasions and festivals. This seven yards of material is made out of pure cotton or silk which is wrapped around the waist and legs and then knotted at the waist. The attire for Indian men, the dhoti, was even worn by the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. This Pongal or Sankranti, the Indian men wear on this beautiful outfit along with the same color shirt which is usually white or cream or a relevant one which matches. The most interesting thing about this attire for Indian men is that the dhoti can be worn in 60 different styles. In the Northern Part of India for Pongal or Sankranti, they sport the Indian traditional outfit along with a kurta, which is known as the 'Dhoti Kurta' and in the south it is worn with a cotton or silk shirt.
The Angavastram – The elderly people in India prefer the Angavastram. It is two pieces of cloth made out of pure cotton or pure silk. This Indian traditional outfit is worn on special occasions and functions like that of Pongal or the harvest festival, Sankranti. The men usually prefer the Angavastram boarded with zari which looks classy and rich in Indian tradition.
