Waistband Tells Your Age

The finding is based on a study by Debenhams, of shoppers.
The study showed that in teenage boys prefer wearing waistbands which plunge a full five inches from the hips, allowing a loose fit jeans trend.
However, when the teen grows to be a man and enters the professional life, the waistband sets back to natural waistline position, which generally happens at the age of 27.
It stays this way for the next 12 years. By the age of 45 the waistband raises from the natural waistline and by the time one reaches 50, it waist band is 5 inches above the waistline.
“These results will help our designers produce trousers which take body shape into account, enabling all men to look good regardless of age. However, our hardest task continues to be persuading men to confront the fact that their trouser waistbands have risen. From our experience, men still prefer to assume that their trousers no longer fit because their legs have suddenly grown," says Debenhams.
