The Right Way To Apply Blush For Your Face Type
Our faces are the focal points of our body. No one looks the same. We all may agree to that. But, all our face shapes can be categorised into 4 basic shapes. Square, oval, heart and round. If we want to look our best, we need to consider our face shape before deciding on our hairstyle or make-up.
While applying make-up, blush on the cheeks is very important. It provides the face a rosy glow and makes our best facial features pop. Applying blush after a foundation base is important or else it will make your face look washed out and plain. More than using a blush, using it the right way will result in a complete transformation of your face. It will complement your facial structure and will definitely earn you some extra brownie points.
Here we will tell you about the right technique to apply blush according to your face type.

Square Shape
These shapes are usually equally long and wide. They have angled jaw lines which are as wide as their forehead. Some celebrities who have a square-shaped face are - Anushka Sharma and Demi Moore.
Square faces tend to be angular. Applying blush to the apples of your cheek will soften the features. Start a few inches away from the bridge of your nose and blend outwards. Make sure to not widen the blush as it will only make your face look wider.

Oval Shape
Oval shapes are elongated shapes with less width. You may get a better idea if you look at Sarah Jessica Parker or Katrina Kaif. They have long faces with not-so-wide foreheads.
Oval shapes are the best as everything suits them. Start from the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards. Do not apply too much blush as oval shapes have higher cheekbones and too much colour will make them look artificial.

Heart Shape
Although our heart has a more complex structure than a simple heart shape, there is one part of our body that resembles a simple heart. The face. This type of a face is recognised by a forehead which is wider than the cheeks and they narrow down to the chin. Look at Deepika Padukone's or Reese Witherspoon's face as examples.
Heart-shaped faces have a sharp chin. Applying blush just below the apples of the cheek and blending upwards will soften the chin and make the face look more even.

Round Shape
Round faces are quite common. These are characterised by soft features. The width of the forehead and cheekbones are equal. The jaw is not sharp and the face usually has fuller cheeks. Cameron Diaz is a perfect example for celebrities with a round face. Back home, Sonakshi Sinha has a perfectly round face with soft features.
To give a better definition to the cheeks, apply the blush slightly lower than the cheekbones and blend outwards towards your temples. This will slim the face and make it look better. Remember to never apply the blush directly on the apples as it will widen the face further.
We hope this guide helped you better understand your face shape and the right application of blush. After assessing your facial structure, your hair and make-up should be in sync with it. While applying make-up, you should follow instructions based on your face shape so as to bring out the best in you.
