Types Of Makeup Brushes & Their Uses!

So without getting into niche details we can take a look at some of the common makeup brushes that you are likely to use for your daily makeup.
Basic Makeup Brushes And Their Uses:
1. Round Powder Brush: This is a type of brush that is typically large, bushy and roundish in shape. This is easily the largest brush in your makeup kit. The bushiness of this brush is so that it can cover a large area at once and at the same time do it evenly. You can use this brush on the whole face for dusting. When you are applying compact powder or a finishing touch of gold dust, it needs to be all over the face; that is when you use this brush.
2. Blush Brush: You must be thinking, 'this brush comes with the blusher itself!' No, we are not talking about that miniscule brush inside the box. Just compare the surface area of your cheek with the brush, it is just too narrow. Get a brush that is dome shaped (not round or rectangular) to get that flush on your cheeks and not look like a painted Chinese doll. This brush may not be as large but it is second only to the powder brush in size.
3. Eye Makeup Brush: There are basically 2 types of eye makeup brushes.
- One is the thin pointed one for the eye liner. Ideally you do not need to buy this separately because every liquid eye liner comes with one. However, if you are you are not satisfied with the effect then the best thing to do is buy a brush with a longer handle for more control.
- The other brush is the eyeshadow brush. The one you get with your eye shadow pack is a flat fabric (not bristled) brush. It is better to use angled makeup brushes for applying eyeshadow because the flat one wears off easily and makes the shadow look patchy. The angular brush has a small head with a slant for application on the bulge of the eyelid.
4. Lip Brushes: This type of makeup brushes are rarely used because we either apply lipstick directly or the liquid lip colour comes with a applicator. However, you can always use a lip brush for more precision. There is one type that is totally flat to give a even colouring. The oval ended one is for a shaded lips and the pointed one for lip lining.
