Herbal Remedies To Treat Dry Scalp

Dry scalp means flaky dandruff. And flaky dandruff can lead to only one possible outcome, hair fall!

Before exploring Ayurvedic masks for dry scalp, let us first understand what causes the scalp to lose its moisture and dry out!
Extreme variation in weather, hot water, stress, using chemically heavy hair care products, etc., can strip scalp of its natural oils, making it itchy and flaky.
What you need to do first? Use a scarf to cover hair when stepping under direct sunlight, use herbal hair care products, use lukewarm water to wash hair and restrict your shampoo usage to two times a week.

Olive Oil
Antioxidants and vitamin E present in olive oil not just treat dry scalp, but restore the pH balance, removing flaky dandruff and promoting hair growth.
Step 1:

Warm 2 tablespoons of olive oil in medium heat, let it simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat. When cool, massage the oil on to your scalp.
Step 2:

Let the homemade mask to remove dandruff stay for 20 minutes and then rinse it with a mild shampoo.
Tea Tree Oil
Antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties present in tea tree oil cleanse the scalp of impurities, close pores, seal cuticles and make the scalp healthy.
Step 1:

Mix 5 to 10 drops of tea tree oil to a cup of water.
Step 2:

Use the solution to rinse your hair after shampooing. Massage your scalp for 5 minutes and then rinse it with cold water.
Lemon Juice + Honey
Citric acid, vitamin C and humectant present in this herbal remedy soothes scalp, removes dryness, cleanses flaky dandruff and relieves the scalp of any itchiness.
Step 1:

Mix 10 drops of lemon juice with a tablespoon of organic honey. Mix it well.
Step 2:

Wet your hair and massage the mixture on to your scalp. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse it with plain water.
