There are numerous traditional methods to use dried reetha for hair, to prevent hair loss, as well as leaving the hair silky and voluminous. It also has insecticidal properties, which aid in the removal of lice. Dried reetha for hair loss can be most effectively used in the form of powder, obtained by drying reetha leaves and mixing them in a grinder to produce a fine powder. Dried reetha is a gentle cleanser, it does not make the hair brittle, while leaving the scalp dirt-free.
Here are six ways to use dried reetha for revitalising hair and preventing hair loss.

- A hair oil can be obtained by heating 100ml of coconut oil for 4-5 minutes, adding a handful of dried reetha and amla into the heated oil and mixing well. Cover the mixture and leave it for 24 hours, reheating it every 4-6 hours, to ensure absorption of reetha and amla by the oil. Strain the oil and transfer it to a bottle, to be used as required. Hair will be thick and manageable, even after shampooing.
- Dried reetha for hair can be used as a paste by mixing two eggs, two tablespoons each of amla, dried reetha and shikakai powder. Massage on the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo. Repeat it for 3-4 times a week to effectively combat hair loss.
- Another method of using dried reetha for hair is by mixing 3 tablespoons of dried reetha and 3 tablespoons of henna powder into a paste. Massage it into hair and wait for 10 minutes. Rinse it out with a paste of hibiscus and mild shampoo. Hair will not be frizzy and tangled, but manageable and more voluminous.
- Mix soaked Fenugreek seeds, shikakai powder, dried reetha powder, amla powder, dried lemon or lime peels, two eggs, and grind to make a paste. Massage this paste onto hair and scalp and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash it out with a mild shampoo. Hair fall will reduce visibly in 2-3 weeks.
- Boil dried reetha, Yucca root, Flaxseed, and Hibiscus flowers in water to make herbal shampoo. Hair will look softer and shinier after washing, and will grow thicker with regular use.
- Dried Reetha for hair can be used in the form of a shampoo by mixing 100gm each of amla, dried reetha, and shikakai and boil in two liters of water until the liquid reduces to half. Use this shampoo for your hair for at least 1-2 months to see best results. Extra oil can be removed by drying out the hair, and thus ceasing hair loss.
Try these ways to use reetha and treat hair loss.
