There are umpteen hair accessories in the market that will make your tresses unique and beautiful. However if you want to add a personal touch of creativity to these hair accessories, here are some tips to aid you. Learn to make hair bands and hair bows with these simple steps.

Hair Bands

Hair bands are popping up to fashion on these days. As children, all of us would have worn hair bands at some time or other in our childhood. Here are some simple steps to relive those moments.

Materials required: -

Iron
Linen starch
Spray adhesive
Fabric Scissors
Plastic hair band
1/4" ribbon (optional)
Hot glue gun or clear fabric glue.
Light weight fabric, cut a 18" x 4" (varies with the width of band) piece on bias (45 degree angle)

How to make: -

Add spray adhesive onto backside of fabric and all over the hair band.

Measure and mark 1/2" (measure width of band and divide by 2) outside of band's perimeter. Trim along markings.

Carefully wrap outer side of band.

Fold sides of each end of the hair band, and then continue to wrap the inside of the band tightly and smoothly.

Glue ribbon along the seam line, fold in ends of ribbons. Or in Step 4, when marking the 1/2", add an extra 1/4" and fold 1/4" along edge.

Hair Bows

Materials required: -

Ribbon
Hair Elastic

How to make: -

Make 6 strips of 14-inch length out of your ribbon.

Tie the strips into the ponytail holders with the elastic!
