Common Bridal Makeup Mistakes To Avoid, Tips By Sonam Kapoor’s Makeup Artist
We all make beauty mistakes at some point. When it comes to your wedding day, not everything you see online will necessarily work out in real life. And social media sets unrealistic expectations around bridal beauty, Namrata Soni, Sonam Kapoor's makeup artist, tells Vogue.
According to Sonam Kapoor's Makeup Artist, these are the most common bridal beauty mistakes.

Common Bridal Makeup Mistakes To Avoid
1. Too much foundation
You only need a thin layer of the foundation after using a primer to ensure your makeup lasts throughout the day. Too much foundation gives you a cakey appearance, which can be unrecognisable in person. Remember ladies, a heavy base looks good with filters only on Instagram.
2. Heavy contouring
As part of their makeup for reels, beauty influencers often contour heavily. However, Soni advises that you need less product for real life. Use cream contour under your foundation rather than powder bronzer or contour. Powder contour will leave straight lines across the face, which can be difficult to blend.
3. First time wearing a new lip colour
When it comes to lip colour, brides often want to experiment with different shades. However, if you have never worn a dark lip look or a light lip look before your wedding, it is best to wear them to parties just so that you become comfortable with them.

4. Glass skin
On the day of your wedding, you should prefer a dewy natural glow rather than glass skin, which is one of the most trending looks on the Internet for a while now.
The glass skin makeup will not last up to 12 hours. You only need soft highlighting skin and powder cream on your cheekbones where the light catches it. Any more will make your face appear oily and the makeup will move rapidly.
5. First time wearing falsies
Full lashes can make or break a look, and many Indian brides request full lashes for their special day. It is best to start with corner lashes to get used to them and wear falsies for a few functions before wearing them for the actual wedding.

6. Wanting to look 'fairer'
Often, brides desire to appear many tones fairer than they really are. Accept who you are and what you really want to look like is to appear brighter instead of lighter. Just highlight your T-zone with one or two shades of lighter concealer to draw out your features more. On your wedding day, it is a misconception that you need to look fairer to appear glowing ladies! Embrace your skin tone.
