All You Need To Learn About The Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder
Know how activated charcoal can help to give you whiter teeth for life.
If you are tired of using all kinds of natural remedies for teeth whitening at home, then here is the one remedy which we recommend you to try - the activated charcoal teeth whitening powder.
We all know that activated charcoal powder is used in curing food poisoning problems, bile flow problems but yes, it also acts as a good natural teeth whitener.
Activated charcoal powder is tasteless and odourless and believe us when we say that other than the black colour, there is nothing really scary about it, but this only comes with immense benefits.

What Is Activated Charcoal Powder?
Activated charcoal powder is produced from carbonaceous sources like coconut husk, peat, wood, coir, nutshells, lignite, coal, and petroleum pitch through the chemical activation or physical activation process.
How Does Activated Charcoal Powder Work As A Teeth Whitener?
The activated charcoal's pores bind with the rough parts on the teeth, usually the surface.
Our teeth is filled with stains, plaques and yellow marks. Activated charcoal works on these, as its big pores and natural adhesive nature takes away the plaque, food particles and so on.
Continuous use of activated charcoal can bring in a good change in the colour of your teeth. In case you have decaying and cavity struck tooth, then activated charcoal is not a valid option to use.

How To Get Activated Charcoal Powder?
It is available in any medical store and can be bought to be tried as a teeth whitener. However, activated charcoal is usually available in the form of tablets. Therefore, one has to grind the charcoal tablets into a fine powder and then use it for brushing their teeth.

Recipe For The Activated Charcoal Powder-based Toothpaste:
- First, you have to buy activated charcoal tablets from any local pharmacy.
- For one time use, just grind one tablet into a powder form.
- Mix the powdered activated charcoal powder with droplets of water to make a fine paste.
- Brush this paste on to your teeth gently (exactly how you would use your regular toothpaste) and then rinse off with cold water.
- In case you plan to use the activated charcoal for future, do not prepare the paste and save it. You can instead prepare the charcoal powder and keep it in an air-tight container.
- When you want to use the same, you can take the powder, mix it with some water and then follow the above-mentioned steps.

Important Points To Keep In Mind
- Make sure not to swallow the activated charcoal even as an experiment.
- Ensure the charcoal you are using is within the expiry date.
- When you are experimenting with the activated charcoal teeth whitening treatment, in case of any discomfort - do discontinue.
- Do not use this if you are having any oral or teeth-related problems.
- You can use both a brush or fingers to gently apply the activated charcoal powder paste on your teeth.
- Do not scrub the activated charcoal powder paste on your teeth, as its adhesive nature can affect your enamel.
- Do not use the activated charcoal powder twice in a day. Ensure that you use toothpaste once and then the activated charcoal powder the next time.
